Puromax PC4 filter FAQ
What filters does the Puromax PC4 use?
Four stages: a 5 micron 10" × 2.5" sediment filter (OEM SF5-10), a 10" × 2.5" carbon block (OEM PCTO/2), a 50 GPD TFC membrane (OEM TFM-50) and an inline GAC post-filter with ¼" quick-connects. The IPW 4-stage set (¼" quick-connect) has all four.
Is the PC4 post-filter quick-connect or threaded?
Puromax lists the PC-4 as a ¼" quick-connect system, so use the ¼" quick-connect inline. Some older PC4-38 units use a threaded AICRO inline with 3/8" fittings; check the ends of your filter or call (714) 541-6600.
How often should I change the PC4 filters?
Change the sediment filter every 6 to 9 months and the carbon filters about every 12 months. The membrane usually lasts about 3 years. Change sooner if flow drops or the taste changes.
Is Puricom the same as Puromax?
Yes. PuROmax is the Puricom product line, and the PC4 is its 4-stage 50 GPD under-sink unit. The same standard 10" filters fit either label.
