Carbon Block & GAC Water Filters

Carbon is the go-to for taste, odor and chlorine — and carbon block adds fine sediment and chemical reduction. We carry a deep range of carbon-block and granular activated carbon (GAC) cartridges and inline filters from Omnipure, PureT, KX Technologies MatriKX, Filtrex and more, in every common size and micron.

How to choose a carbon filter

Block vs. GAC. Carbon block filters finer (chlorine, taste, some cysts/lead) and adds sediment reduction; GAC maximizes flow and taste/odor contact.
Chlorine vs. chloramine. Standard carbon handles chlorine; catalytic carbon (MatriKX CTO, coconut catalytic) is needed for chloramine.
Match size and micron. 10"/20" x 2.5" and inline 2" cartridges in 0.5–10 micron — finer polishes more, coarser flows more.
Protect the membrane. In RO systems, carbon pre-filters shield the membrane from chlorine — change them on schedule.
