Water Filter Housings for Whole-House, RO & Under-Sink Systems

Filter housings are the pressure vessels that hold your filter cartridges and tie them into your plumbing. Choosing the right one comes down to three things: the cartridge size it accepts, the port size that matches your pipe, and the flow your household or application needs. We stock genuine housings from Pentek, PureT, Watts, Hydronix, Kemflo and Flomatic — from compact Slim Line units to 20" Big Blue whole-house vessels and RO membrane housings.

How to choose a filter housing

Match the cartridge size. Standard 2.5"-diameter housings take common 10" or 20" cartridges; 4.5"-diameter "Big Blue" housings handle high-flow whole-house filtration. Housing length should match your cartridge length.
Check the port size. Housings ship with 1/2", 3/4", or 1" NPT inlet/outlet ports — match the port to your incoming line so you don't choke flow.
Clear vs. opaque sump. Clear sumps let you eyeball cartridge condition; opaque blue, white or black sumps block light to discourage algae on longer service cycles.
Keep a spare O-ring. The housing O-ring is the #1 wear part — a fresh one at each cartridge change is the cheapest leak insurance there is.
