What filters does the PureT RO550-905EZ use?
Five stages: a 10" × 2.5" 5 micron sediment filter, two 10" × 2.5" 5 micron coconut carbon blocks, a 50 GPD RO membrane and a 10" × 2" inline GAC post-filter with ¼" quick-connects. The IPW 5-stage kit (¼" QC) has all five.
What is the difference between the RO550-905 and the RO550-905EZ?
The EZ model uses ¼" quick-connect fittings, so its inline post-filter has quick-connect ends (like ICF-10Q or IL-10W-C-EZ). The cartridges and membrane are the same size. See the RO550-905 page for the threaded version.
How often should I change the filters?
Replace the sediment and carbon filters every 6 to 12 months and the inline post-filter every 12 months. The membrane usually lasts 2 to 3 years.
Will a standard 1812 membrane fit?
Yes. The RO550-905EZ takes a standard 1812-size 50 GPD membrane, like the TFCK-1812-50 or IPW TW-1812-50. Call (714) 541-6600 if you want a higher GPD.
