What filters does the PureT RO550-905 use?
Five stages: a 10" × 2.5" 5 micron sediment filter, two 10" × 2.5" 5 micron coconut carbon blocks, a 50 GPD 1812 membrane and a 10" × 2" inline GAC post-filter with ¼" NPT threads. The IPW 5-stage kit (¼" NPT) has all five.
What is the difference between the RO550-905 and the RO550-905EZ?
The cartridges and membrane are the same size. The EZ model uses ¼" quick-connect fittings, so its inline post-filter has quick-connect ends. The RO550-905 uses a threaded ¼" NPT inline. See the RO550-905EZ page for the quick-connect version.
Can I use genuine PureT filters instead?
Yes. Each stage lists the genuine PureT part (GCB0987005, HQCBC-10-5, TFCK-1812-50, IL-10W-C-14) next to the IPW option. Both fit.
How often should I change the filters?
Replace the sediment and carbon filters every 6 to 12 months and the inline post-filter every 12 months. The membrane usually lasts 2 to 3 years.
