What filters does the NU Aqua Platinum 5-stage use?
Five stages: a 1 micron polypropylene sediment filter, a HydraCoil GAC filter, a coconut carbon block (all 10" × 2.5"), a 100 GPD TFC membrane and an inline T33 coconut carbon post-filter. The system uses ¼" tubing.
How often should I change NU Aqua Platinum filters?
NU Aqua recommends changing stages 1 to 3 every 6 to 9 months. Change the T33 post-filter about once a year. The membrane usually lasts 1 to 3 years depending on your water.
Will standard 10" filters fit my NU Aqua system?
Yes. NU Aqua says its Platinum Series replacement sets fit standard 10" × 2.5" housings. The parts on this page are that size.
What is the difference between the 5-stage and 6-stage alkaline NU Aqua?
They share stages 1 to 5. The 6-stage alkaline model adds a remineralization filter after the post-carbon to add minerals and raise the pH.
