What filters does the Omnipure Q-Series RO use?
A Q5605 5 micron sediment cartridge, a Q5633 coconut GAC cartridge, a TQ56 encapsulated RO membrane and a second Q5633 as the final carbon stage. The complete set has all four.
Do Q-Series cartridges fit standard 10 inch housings?
No. Q-Series cartridges are 12" × 2.5" twist-off cartridges with a proprietary head. They only fit Q-Series heads. Standard drop-in cartridges will not fit.
Which TQ56 membrane do I need?
Match the GPD printed on your old membrane: TQ56-36FC, TQ56-50FC or TQ56-75FC. All have the flow control built in, so no separate restrictor is needed.
Can I use Q5640, Q5651 or Q5620 instead of Q5633?
They use the same Q-Series twist-off format, but the media differs: Q5640 is T40 coconut GAC, Q5651 is a sediment/GAC combo and Q5620 is a 1 micron carbon block. Replace like with like — read the number on your old cartridge, or call (714) 541-6600 and we will match it.
How often should I change Q-Series filters?
Change the Q5605 and Q5633 cartridges every 6 to 12 months and the TQ56 membrane every 2 to 3 years. Replace the head O-rings when you change filters to prevent leaks.
