What pre-filters does the GrowoniX EX1000-T use?
The tall EX1000-T takes standard 20" × 4.5" Big Blue cartridges: one sediment filter and one carbon filter. Our PureT SC-20SW-BP-5 and PureT HQCBC-20BB-5 are that size.
What is the difference between the EX1000-T and the EX1000?
The EX1000-T has 20" pre-filter housings. The standard EX / GX units use 10" × 4.5" housings. The cartridges are not interchangeable. See the EX / GX page for the 10" filters.
Should I use the KDF-85 carbon upgrade?
It is meant for well water with iron or a rotten-egg (hydrogen sulfide) smell. For city water, the coconut carbon block is the usual choice.
Do you sell GrowoniX membranes?
No. We do not stock a membrane made for GrowoniX housings. Buy it from GrowoniX. We can save you money on the 20" pre-filters.
How often should I change the pre-filters?
Every 6 to 12 months for most water. Change the sediment filter sooner if pressure or flow drops.
