What filters does the Culligan AC-50 use?
Four stages: a 2" × 12" 5 micron sediment filter, a 2" × 12" carbon block, a 50 GPD RO membrane (Culligan 1224437) and a 6" inline GAC post-filter. The AC-50 filter set has all four, with a GE Desal TFM-50A 50 GPD membrane.
Can I use an AC-30 membrane in my AC-50?
It fits the same housing, but the AC-30 membrane is rated 36 GPD, so you will make less water. For the full 50 GPD, use the membrane in the AC-50 set.
Is the AC-50 inline filter 1/4" or 3/8"?
Most AC-50 units use a 3/8" quick-connect inline post-filter. A few were built with 1/4" fittings. Check the tube at your current post-filter, or call (714) 541-6600 and we will send the right one.
How often should I change the AC-50 filters?
Replace the sediment and carbon filters every 6 to 12 months and the inline post-filter about once a year. The membrane usually lasts 2 to 3 years.
