What filters does the APEC RO-PERM use?
Five stages: a 5 micron sediment filter (APEC 1-SED10), two 10" × 2.5" carbon blocks (23-CAB10), a 90 GPD membrane (MEM-90) and a 10" inline coconut carbon post-filter with ¼" quick-connects (5-TCR-QC).
Does the permeate pump need a filter?
No. The permeate pump has no cartridge to replace. Only the five filter stages and the membrane need changing. If the pump stops working, call (714) 541-6600.
Are RO-PERM filters the same as the RO-90?
Yes. APEC lists the MEM-90 membrane and the FILTER-MAX90 set for the RO-90 and the RO-PERM, so the same IPW parts fit both.
How often should I change the filters?
Change the sediment and both carbon blocks every 6 to 12 months and the inline post-filter about once a year. The membrane usually lasts 2 to 3 years, or until water quality drops.
Can I use a 100 GPD membrane instead of the 90 GPD MEM-90?
Yes. The PureT TFCK-1812-100 is a standard 1812 thin-film element that fits the same membrane housing. Real output depends on your water pressure and temperature. Questions? Call (714) 541-6600.
