INSTALLATION & USE
Filter Replacement Procedure
- Shut off water supply to the RO system and relieve pressure by opening the storage tank valve and dispensing remaining water from the faucet.
- Unscrew the pre-filter housings and remove old sediment and carbon filters, then rinse housings with clean water before installing new 10" x 2.5" cartridges in correct order.
- Remove the RO membrane housing cap, pull out the old membrane, and insert the new 12" x 2" compatible F560018 membrane with check valve facing the correct flow direction.
- Reassemble all housings with lubricated o-rings, restore water supply, and flush the system for 15-20 minutes to remove air and carbon fines.
- Discard the first tank of water produced after membrane replacement to ensure optimal water quality.
COMPATIBILITY
Designed for Watts WP-4V Systems
This replacement filter set is engineered specifically for Watts WP-4V and FMRO4-MAN reverse osmosis systems. The 10" x 2.5" pre-filters fit standard housings used across the WP-4V platform, while the 12" x 2" membrane is a direct compatible replacement for Watts part number F560018. The included check valve prevents backflow contamination of the membrane element. All components meet dimensional and performance specifications required for proper system operation and contaminant reduction.
🔧 Pro Tip: Mark your calendar when installing new filters—sediment and carbon wear out faster in homes with well water or high chlorine levels. If you notice reduced flow rate or taste changes before the recommended replacement interval, don't wait; early filter changes prevent membrane damage and extend your 50 GPD membrane's lifespan well into the 24-month range.
