System Applications
The Watts A7007A gravel is designed for point-of-entry filtration tanks including whole house carbon filters, iron removal systems, and softener pre-filters. Typically layered 2-4 inches deep at the bottom of tanks before adding primary filter media. Compatible with Watts, Clack, Fleck, and other standard valve systems. Often used alongside finer grades like Watts A8072 #20 flint gravel for multi-layer support beds in larger commercial and residential filtration applications.
Media Bed Setup
Base Gravel Bed
Pour 2-4 inches of A7007A gravel into empty tank first, level evenly to cover distributor assembly and laterals completely.
Transition Layer
Add finer gravel grade like A8072 #20 (1/16") above base layer to create gradual transition before primary media.
Primary Media
Add activated carbon, greensand, or other filtration media on top of gravel support bed per system specifications.

Shields internal laterals from media fouling and mechanical damage
