Installing the TMH10A Membrane
- Shut down the RO system completely and relieve all pressure from the membrane housing before opening
- Remove the old membrane if replacing, then slide the Toray TMH10A into the pressure vessel with the brine seal oriented correctly toward the feed end
- Install end caps, lubricate o-rings with clean silicone grease, and torque housing to manufacturer specifications
- Flush the new membrane at low pressure (25-30 psi) for 30-60 minutes before placing the system into full production
- Monitor TDS and flow rate during the first 24-48 hours of operation to confirm proper performance
System Requirements
The Toray TMH10A fits all standard 4-inch diameter by 40-inch length commercial RO membrane housings, including systems from Pentair, DOW, Hydranautics, and other manufacturers using the 4040 format. Designed specifically for brackish water sources with TDS levels between 2,000-10,000 ppm, this membrane performs best in systems with feed pressure between 150-225 psi. Verify your housing dimensions and feed water quality before ordering. Professional installation is recommended for commercial applications to ensure proper system startup and performance validation.
