INSTALLATION & USE

How to Install Your Hytrex Filter

  1. Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before opening the filter housing
  2. Remove the old cartridge and clean the housing sump with a mild bleach solution, then rinse thoroughly
  3. Insert the new Hytrex filter cartridge, ensuring the end caps seat properly in the housing
  4. Lubricate the O-ring with food-grade silicone grease and hand-tighten the housing securely
  5. Turn water supply on slowly, check for leaks, and flush the filter for 3-5 minutes before use
COMPATIBILITY

Housing & System Fit

The SUEZ Hytrex 40" x 2.5" filter fits proprietary long-length filter housings designed for commercial, industrial, and oil and gas applications. This series is compatible with SUEZ (GE Osmonics) housings and select third-party 40-inch housings that accept 2.5-inch diameter cartridges. The graded density structure and high void volume make it ideal for high-flow whole-house systems and as pre-filtration for reverse osmosis systems where sediment, dirt, rust, and hydrocarbon capture are critical.

🔧 Pro Tip: Match your micron rating to your water source—start with 20 micron for heavy sediment loads, then step down to 5 or 1 micron for polishing stages to maximize filter life and prevent premature clogging.
