INSTALLATION & USE
How to Install the SharkBite U139LF
- Cut pipe square and deburr the end. Measure and mark insertion depth on pipe (refer to SharkBite depth chart).
- Push the pipe firmly into the push-fit end until it reaches the internal tube stop. No tools, solder, or glue required.
- Apply pipe thread sealant or Teflon tape to the 1" male threads and hand-tighten into the female threaded fitting or adapter.
- Pressurize the system and inspect for leaks. Use SharkBite disconnect clip or disconnect tongs to remove if needed.
COMPATIBILITY
Pipe and Application Compatibility
The SharkBite U139LF reducing male connector works with 3/4" copper (CTS), PEX (all types), CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE pipe on the push-fit end, and threads into any standard 1" female pipe thread (FPT) fitting. Suitable for potable water distribution, hydronic heating systems, and behind-the-wall or underground installations where permanent, code-compliant connections are required without access panels.
🔧 Pro Tip: Always use a SharkBite deburring tool and check for pipe roundness before insertion. Oval or burred pipes compromise the O-ring seal and can cause slow leaks under pressure.
