INSTALLATION & USE
How to Install
- Cut PEX tubing square and ensure the end is free from debris or damage.
- Slide the stainless steel clamp or copper crimp ring onto the PEX tubing before inserting onto the barb.
- Push the PEX tubing firmly onto the barb until it reaches the shoulder of the fitting.
- Position the clamp or crimp ring over the barbed section and secure using the appropriate clamping or crimping tool.
- Thread the male NPT end into the receiving fitting, applying thread sealant or tape as needed for a watertight seal.
COMPATIBILITY
System Integration
This SharkBite reducing male adaptor is compatible with all standard PEX tubing types (PEX-A, PEX-B, and PEX-C) and connects to any MNPT threaded fitting or valve. The lead-free DZR brass construction meets NSF/ANSI standards for potable water contact and is approved for use in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Compatible with stainless steel clamp systems or copper crimp ring systems, both sold separately.
🔧 Pro Tip: Always use a PEX tubing cutter for clean, square cuts rather than a utility knife. Angled or ragged cuts can prevent proper seating on the barb and compromise the seal integrity of your connection.
