INSTALLATION & USE
Installing Your QMP High Pressure Housing
- Mount the housing in an accessible location using the bracket holes, ensuring adequate clearance below for cartridge replacement.
- Apply thread sealant tape to 1/4" NPT male fittings and thread into inlet and outlet ports, tightening securely without over-torquing.
- Insert your chosen 10-inch cartridge into the housing, wet the o-ring with clean water, and hand-tighten the sump until snug.
- Pressurize the system slowly and inspect all connections for leaks before putting into regular service.
- Replace cartridges according to manufacturer recommendations or when flow rate noticeably decreases.
COMPATIBILITY
Filter Cartridge Options
This QMP housing accepts any standard 10-inch × 2.5-inch diameter filter cartridge including sediment filters, carbon block cartridges, pleated media, and specialty cartridges from brands like Pentek, Hydronix, Matrikx, and Filtrex. The 1/4" NPT ports are compatible with most standard quick-connect fittings, ball valves, and plumbing adapters used in residential and light commercial installations.
🔧 Pro tip: Before threading the sump back on, apply a thin film of food-grade silicone grease to the o-ring. This extends seal life, prevents binding, and makes cartridge changes significantly easier, especially in high-pressure applications approaching 100 psi.
