INSTALLATION & USE
How to Fill and Install
- Unscrew one end cap and fill the cartridge with your chosen media (GAC, KDF, catalytic carbon, ion exchange resin, or custom blend). Leave about 10% headspace to allow for media expansion.
- Replace the end cap and tighten securely. Ensure both o-rings are properly seated to prevent bypass.
- Install the filled cartridge into your 20-inch standard filter housing. The clear body allows you to visually monitor media condition and flow patterns.
- Flush the cartridge for 5-10 minutes before use to remove fines and fully wet the media.

Housing and Media Compatibility
The PureT GAC-20C-EP fits all standard 20-inch filter housings with 2.5-inch diameter cavities, including models from Pentek, Culligan, Watts, and generic brands. Compatible with granular activated carbon (GAC), catalytic carbon, KDF-55, KDF-85, ion exchange resins, bone char, and other loose filtration media. Also compatible as a replacement for Watts RC-W-20 and similar refillable cartridge designs. Do not use with media that swells significantly or requires backwashing.
🔧 When filling with granular media, tap the cartridge gently on a hard surface several times during filling to settle the media and eliminate air pockets. This maximizes capacity and prevents channeling during operation.
