10" Clear Sediment Filter Kit with Pressure Relief
Lead time: Expected restock date is November 12, 2026. Order now and we ship as soon as stock lands.
Part R51046 is Pentair's sediment-configured Dura-Series kit: the 10" clear-sump polycarbonate housing with a stainless pressure-relief button, a sediment cartridge, and the SW-1B sump wrench. The clear sump lets you watch the cartridge load up so you change it on condition, not on a calendar.

Dura-Series construction
Polycarbonate Sump
Dura-Series sumps are molded from polycarbonate instead of polypropylene or SAN, for a tougher housing that shrugs off the stress of repeated cartridge changes.
Radial EPDM O-Ring
The radial seal design seats the O-ring on the side of the sump, so the seal doesn't depend on how hard you tighten — it resists leaks from over- and under-tightening alike.
Hard-Stop Threading
The sump threads to a positive stop against the cap. When it stops, it's fully installed — no guessing, no cracked caps from cranking too far.
Drill Bosses & Mount Points
Cast-in bosses on the cap accept pressure gauges and sensors, and dedicated mounting locations line up with the standard MC-1A bracket.
Four steps to a leak-free install
- Shut off the water supply and open a downstream faucet to relieve pressure. Allow at least 2-1/4" of clearance below the housing for cartridge changes.
- Wrap the 3/4" NPT inlet and outlet threads with PTFE tape and plumb the cap in the direction of the flow arrows. Mount the cap to the wall with an MC-1A bracket (sold separately).
- Apply a generous coat of silicone grease to all surfaces of the EPDM O-ring and seat it in the sump groove. Drop in your cartridge and thread the sump up until it stops against the cap.
- Turn the water back on slowly, press the pressure-relief button (PR models) to purge trapped air, and check for drips before closing the faucet.
Pro tip: Pentair rates the sump for replacement every five years. Keep a spare #241 EPDM O-ring (R51120) on hand and swap it any time you see nicks, flattening or weeping at the cap.
Refill with any standard 10" cartridge
When the included cartridge loads up, replace it with any 10" x 2.5" sediment cartridge — Pentek string-wound, spun polypropylene or pleated, or our IPW sediment filters — or switch the housing to carbon block or GAC for taste and odor. Change sediment cartridges every 3–6 months or when pressure drop becomes noticeable.
