The Omnipure Q5662 is a 12" x 2.5" mixed bed deionization filter designed to strip total dissolved solids (TDS) and salts from water using nuclear-grade Purolite NRW-37 resin. Built for the Q-Series Twist Off platform, it automatically shuts off water flow when disconnected from the head, making cartridge changes cleaner and safer in RO systems, ice makers, beverage equipment, and under-sink installations.

INSTALLATION & USE
Cartridge Replacement Process
- Turn off water supply to the filter system and relieve any pressure by opening the downstream valve or faucet.
- Twist the Q5662 cartridge counterclockwise to disconnect from the Q-Series head. The Twist Tap valve will automatically shut off water flow during removal.
- Align the new Q5662 cartridge with the head and twist clockwise until firmly seated and locked in place.
- Restore water supply and check for leaks at the connection point. Flush the filter for 2-3 minutes before use to rinse the resin bed.
COMPATIBILITY
System Requirements
The Omnipure Q5662 is a replacement cartridge that requires an existing Q-Series filter head with Twist Off capability. Q-Series heads are available with 1/4" Quick-Connect fittings, 1/4" NPT female threads, or 3/8" NPT female threads. This filter is commonly used as a post-RO polishing stage, in ice makers, refrigerators, beverage dispensers, drinking fountains, and under-sink filtration systems where extremely low TDS levels are required.
🔧 Pro Tip: Mixed bed DI resins exhaust faster in high-TDS water. For best results and longer service life, install the Q5662 downstream of an RO membrane or other filtration stages that have already reduced TDS to below 50 ppm. Monitor output water with a TDS meter and replace the cartridge when readings rise above acceptable levels for your application.
