The assembled option reflects the labor to load the media, mount the valve, and pressure-test the unit here before it ships, plus the extra care in packaging a fully built system for freight — iron systems run a slightly higher assembly premium than softeners and carbon filters due to the heavier media. Either option is the same filtration system underneath — assembled just saves you the media pour and the bench work.
