Where This Filter Works
This 20"x4.5" calcite cartridge is compatible with Watts, Intelifil, and other standard Big Blue housings designed for this size. It's engineered for whole-house well water systems with low pH (acidic water), commercial applications requiring pH correction, and post-RO re-mineralization where you want to restore calcium and raise pH after reverse osmosis treatment. The calcite media is self-limiting and slow-reacting, making it ideal for controlled pH correction without overshooting. Note that as calcium carbonate dissolves into your water to neutralize acidity, it increases hardness—you may need a water softener downstream if hardness becomes an issue. Best suited for well water applications, commercial installations, and anywhere acidic water is corroding pipes or fixtures.
