Initial Adsorption
Water flows through high-capacity resin bed designed with binding sites that preferentially attract perchlorate ions over competing anions like sulfate and nitrate.
Ion Substitution
Perchlorate molecules bind to resin sites while chloride ions are released into the water stream, maintaining electrical neutrality without pH shift or mineral depletion.
Treated Water Output
Perchlorate-reduced water exits the cartridge while contaminant remains locked in resin matrix until cartridge capacity is exhausted and replacement is required.

Installation Requirements
The Aries AF-20-3611 installs in any standard 20-inch filter housing with 2.5-inch diameter capacity, including commercial and residential systems. This cartridge is NSF-certified component material and works best as a dedicated perchlorate reduction stage after sediment prefiltration. Not intended for bacterial reduction or broad-spectrum chemical removal. Ideal for municipal water supplies with known perchlorate contamination or wells near aerospace, military, or agricultural sites where perchlorate salts are prevalent.
