Aquatec Demand & Delivery Pump · 550 Series

550 Series High-Flow Delivery Pump

Five-chamber diaphragm pump for moving real volume — atmospheric tank transfer, water vending, whole-house delivery, and long runs where a small booster runs out of capacity.

✓ 2.8 – 6.0 GPM ✓ 60 PSI Factory Set ✓ 115 VAC & 12 VDC ✓ 5-Chamber Design ✓ NSF/ANSI 58 Certified

The Aquatec 550 Series is the high-flow member of the Aquatec diaphragm range — roughly three times the output of a 5800 Series delivery pump. It self-primes from an atmospheric holding tank and pressurises it, or boosts a low-pressure supply line. A patented five-chamber diaphragm and piston design keeps pulsation and noise low even at full flow. Every model on this page is factory set to a 60 PSI shut-off and ships with 1/2" NPT female ports.

CHOOSING YOUR MODEL

Match the Flow to the Job

Part Number Flow (open) Shut-off Voltage Best for
5510-1E12-J526 2.8 GPM 60 PSI 115 VAC Entry point — single-fixture delivery from a storage tank
5512-1E12-J586 3.2 GPM 60 PSI 115 VAC Light whole-house and multi-fixture delivery
5511-1E12-B638 3.35 GPM 60 PSI 12 VDC Solar, off-grid, mobile and agricultural installations
5513-1E12-J526 4.9 GPM 60 PSI 115 VAC Water vending, high-demand transfer, long runs
5513-1E01-B606 6.0 GPM 60 PSI 115 VAC Maximum flow, OEM — supplied without a power cord
5513-1E01-J606 6.0 GPM 60 PSI 115 VAC Maximum flow in the 550 range, cord fitted

💡How to read the part number: the letter in the middle is the factory shut-off pressure — A = 30, B = 40, C = 45, D = 50, E = 60, F = 70 PSI. The third digit is the port type: 0 = quick disconnect, 1 = 1/2" NPT female (all models on this page are type 1). A J in the last block means a power cord is fitted; a B means the pump ships on lead wires without a cord. Flow figures are open flow; output at the shut-off pressure is lower, which is normal for a diaphragm pump.

DUTY CYCLE

How Long It Can Run

These pumps are designed for intermittent duty. Most 550 models will run continuously for hours at moderate flow and pressure, but run time falls sharply as you approach both maximum flow and maximum pressure at the same time. Aquatec's thermal protector opens at roughly 145°F motor shell temperature and needs 20 to 40 minutes to reset, so size the pump for the duty rather than for the peak.

⚠️If you need genuinely continuous operation, specify a lower-flow model running well inside its range rather than the 6.0 GPM unit at full output. Call us with the duty cycle and we will pull the current draw from Aquatec's performance tables and confirm which models sit in the continuous band for your application.

KEY FEATURES

Built for Volume

⚙️

Five-Chamber Design

Patented five-chamber diaphragm and piston construction with independent symmetrical valves and ten-point clamping. Aquatec rates the design for exceptionally quiet operation with minimal pulsations.

🔄

Demand or Delivery Mode

Every model on this page carries an integral pressure switch for demand operation, and can equally be driven in delivery mode by an external power switching device.

💧

Self-Priming, Dry-Run Safe

Primes 6 to 11.5 feet of lift depending on model and is undamaged by running dry when a tank empties.

🔧

1/2" NPT Female Ports

Threaded 1/2" FNPT inlet and outlet on every model here. Fittings are sold separately — see below.

🏆

NSF/ANSI 58 Certified

Certified to the reverse osmosis drinking water standard. Polypropylene housings, EPDM valves, Santoprene diaphragm, stainless fasteners.

🔌

AC or DC

115 VAC for mains installations, or a 12 VDC model for solar, mobile and off-grid work — same pump head, same certification.

FITTINGS

Fittings Are Sold Separately

All six models on this page are 551X — the 1/2" NPT female port version. No fittings are supplied with the pump. The matching part is QTS-556, a 1/2" NPT straight connector, available individually or in a pack of two on our 550 Series fitting page. Most installations need two — one for the inlet and one for the outlet.

⚠️Check your port type before ordering. The 1/2" OD quick-connect fittings on that page (QJS-554 straight, QJE-554 elbow) are for the 550X quick-disconnect pump head, which is a different port type. For the 551X models sold here, QTS-556 is the correct NPT part.

COMPATIBILITY & APPLICATIONS

Where This Pump Belongs

Water vending and refill stations, atmospheric storage tank delivery, whole-house and light commercial boosting, feed water transfer, heat exchange and recirculation loops, diluted chemical transfer, agricultural spraying, and solar or off-grid pressurisation on the 12 VDC model. Where a 5800 Series pump handles a single RO faucet, the 550 Series handles a building.

💡Before you order: maximum inlet pressure is 60 PSI. Positive inlet pressure adds to discharge pressure at a given flow, so a pump fed from an already-pressurised line will run above its plate rating. The B606 and B638 models ship without a power cord for OEM integration; J models have the cord fitted.
