What filters does the WECO VGRO-75 use?
Five stages: a 5 micron string-wound sediment filter (Pentek WP-5), a 5 micron carbon block (Pentek CFB-Plus10), a 0.5 micron carbon block (Pentek CBC-10), a Pentair GRO-75 high-recovery membrane, and a Pentek GS-10RO inline GAC post-filter. The first three are standard 10" slim cartridges.
Can I put a standard 1812 membrane in the VGRO-75?
No. The VGRO-75 uses a Pentair GRO-75 encapsulated element that runs at about 1 gallon to drain per gallon made and has a built-in check valve. Use the PureT EZRO-75 or the genuine Pentair GRO-75EN (4002575).
How often should I change the VGRO-75 filters?
WECO says to change the pre-filters every 6 months (about 900 gallons), the post-filter every 12 months (about 1,500 gallons) and the membrane every 24 months.
Do I have to buy genuine Pentek cartridges?
No. Any 10" slim cartridge with the same media and micron rating fits the housings. We list the IPW part first and the genuine Pentek part under each stage. Not sure? Call (714) 541-6600.
