What replacement filters does the PSE2000 use?
One routine cartridge: a 5 micron sediment pre-filter. The system also has a 10" × 54" coconut carbon tank (refill: PSE2000-R, 25 lb) and a 10" × 54" salt-free TAC conditioner tank. Both tanks hold loose media, not cartridges.
How often do I change the PSE2000 sediment filter?
Every 6 to 9 months. Change it sooner if your water pressure drops.
When does the PSE2000 carbon need replacing?
About every 5 years or 600,000 gallons. Drain the carbon tank and refill it with fresh coconut shell carbon. Call (714) 541-6600 if you want help with a rebed.
Does the PSE2000 use the same parts as the Pelican PSE1800?
The sediment pre-filter is most likely the same 10" × 4.5" size, so measure your old cartridge to be sure. The carbon tank is bigger, so it takes the 25 lb PSE2000-R refill instead of the 15 lb PSE1800-R. See the Pelican PSE1800 page.
