What filters does the GE GXRM10 Smart Water RO use?
Three parts: the GE FX12P set (a pre-filter and a post-filter) and the FX12M membrane. Our FX12 replacement set has two 10" × 2.5" carbon blocks and a 50 GPD membrane.
Are the FX12P filters a standard size?
GE does not publish a cartridge size. Compatible GXRM10 kits, including ours, use standard 10" × 2.5" carbon blocks in place of the FX12P. Other GE models that use FX12P (PNRV12, GXRV10) may differ, so call (714) 541-6600 to confirm before ordering.
How often should I change the GE FX12P and FX12M?
GE rates each FX12P filter for about 900 gallons, or 6 months. GE recommends replacing the FX12M membrane every 12 months. Change sooner if flow drops or the water tastes off.
Does the replacement membrane need a flow restrictor?
The GE FX12M has its flow control and cone screen built in. A standard 1812 membrane does not. Call (714) 541-6600 before you switch and we will check your system.
