APEC RO-45 filter FAQ
What filters does the APEC RO-45 use?
Five stages: a sediment filter (1-SED10), two carbon blocks (23-CAB10), a 50 GPD membrane (MEM-45, now sold as MEM-50) and a 10" coconut carbon inline post-filter with ¼" quick-connects (5-TCR-QC). The pre-filters are standard 10" × 2.5".
How often should I change RO-45 filters?
APEC says to change stages 1 to 3 every 12 months, sooner on well water. The membrane lasts 3 to 5 years on city water and 2 to 3 years on well water. Change the post-filter when you change the membrane.
Does a 50 GPD membrane fit if my old one says 45 GPD?
Yes. APEC now sells the MEM-50 as the membrane for the RO-45. It is the same standard 1812 size, so our 50 GPD membrane drops into your housing.
What is the difference between the RO-45 and RO-90?
The RO-90 has a higher-output membrane. The sediment, carbon and post-filters are the same parts. See the APEC RO-90 filter page for its membrane.
