This filter addresses the two most common well water complaints—metallic taste from iron and rotten egg odor from hydrogen sulfide—using a dual-media approach. KDF-85 granules handle heavy metals and sulfur compounds through redox reactions, while high-grade granular activated carbon polishes out chlorine, VOCs, and organic tastes. Rated for 10 micron nominal filtration at up to 2 GPM, it fits any standard 10"×4.5" Big Blue housing and works in water temperatures from 40°F to 100°F.

Where This Filter Works
This cartridge is compatible with Intelifil IF-SM-KDF85010B and fits all standard 10 inch Big Blue filter housings from brands including Watts, Pentek, Culligan, Omni, and generic models. It works in whole-house applications for well water treatment, point-of-use systems for kitchen or bathroom sinks, and as a specialty pre-filter stage in reverse osmosis or UV setups. Ideal for water with noticeable iron staining, sulfur odor, metallic taste, or chlorine smell. Compatible housing models include but are not limited to 10" × 4.5" Big Blue sump-style housings with standard threaded caps.
