Coconut shell carbon's microporous structure traps chlorine, chloramines, VOCs, taste and odor compounds, and organic chemicals through physical and chemical adsorption. Coconut shell offers higher hardness and lower ash content than coal-based carbons.

This 4x8 mesh coconut GAC is sized for whole house carbon tanks, commercial filter vessels, and custom backwashing or upflow systems. Use it to refill Structural, Pentair, Culligan, or generic tanks rated for granular media. It also works in dual-media filters paired with filter sand or greensand, and in specialty applications like aquarium filtration or air purification. Not for use in cartridge housings—this is loose bulk media for tank-style filters only.
