Its larger 4.5" diameter cartridge design provides extended surface area compared to standard 2.5" filters, making it ideal for pre-filtration in reverse osmosis systems, post-filtration in GAC applications, and general sediment reduction in whole house and well water installations.

Where to Use This Filter
The Hydronix SDC Series fits standard 10" x 4.5" big blue filter housings and is commonly used as the first stage in reverse osmosis systems to protect membranes from sediment damage. It also works as a final polishing filter after granular activated carbon (GAC) tanks to capture carbon fines, and as a standalone sediment filter in whole house or well water systems where increased dirt-holding capacity is needed. Select 20 micron for heavy sediment loads, 5 micron for general use, or 1 micron for fine particulate removal.
