The Aries AF-10-2012 combines 2 pounds of KDF-55 redox media with granular activated carbon in a standard 10" x 2.5" cartridge. KDF-55 handles oxidation-reduction chemistry to remove chlorine and reduce heavy metals, while the GAC media tackles taste, odor, and additional organic contaminants. This dual-media approach extends filter life significantly compared to carbon-only cartridges and provides bacteriostatic protection against microbial growth.

Where This Filter Works
The Aries AF-10-2012 fits any standard 10-inch filter housing with 2.5-inch inner diameter. Common applications include reverse osmosis pre-filtration (especially for chloramine reduction), whole-house filtration systems when staged after sediment filtration and flow is managed to stay at or below 1.5 GPM, point-of-use systems, and specialty applications requiring heavy metal reduction or bacteriostatic protection. Compatible with residential, commercial, and light industrial water treatment systems. Not recommended as a sole sediment filter—pair with a 5-micron sediment pre-filter for best results.
