PureT · Residential Drinking Water
The RO550-905EZ 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis System
NSF-certified components, quick-connect fittings, and a complete installation kit — everything you need to produce 50 gallons of pure drinking water per day right from your kitchen sink.
The PureT RO550-905EZ combines membrane separation, carbon adsorption, and mechanical filtration across five dedicated stages to reduce a wide range of contaminants found in both city and well water. Built with food-safe, NSF-certified materials throughout, it ships with a 3.2-gallon storage tank and complete installation kit — so you can be up and running the same day.
Complete Kit
Everything Included Out of the Box
DIY-friendly design: All connections use quick-connect fittings — no soldering, no compression tools required. Most installs can be completed under the sink in under an hour with basic plumbing knowledge.
How It Works
Your Water, Purified in 5 Stages
Polypropylene Sediment Filter
Removes dirt, rust, sand, and larger particulates before they can reach downstream filters. The transparent housing lets you monitor filter condition at a glance without shutting down the system. NSF certified.
Replace every 6–12 months
Coconut Shell Carbon Block
NSF-certified coconut shell carbon block reduces chlorine, taste, odors, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), SOCs (soluble organic compounds), pesticides, and other chemical contaminants. The dense block structure ensures thorough contact with no channeling. NSF certified.
Replace every 6–12 months
Coconut Shell Carbon Block
A second carbon block stage provides a final, dense pass of chlorine, taste, and odor reduction — protecting the RO membrane from oxidative damage and ensuring any remaining organic compounds are captured before the water reaches Stage 4. NSF certified.
Replace every 6–12 months
High-Rejection RO Membrane
The core of the system. This NSF-certified semi-permeable membrane rejects 96–99% of heavy metals and dissolved contaminants including lead, copper, fluoride, nitrate, cadmium, chromium, barium, and bacteria. Water that passes through is stored in the included 3.2-gallon tank.
Replace every 2–3 years
Coconut Shell GAC Polish Filter
The final stage polishes the purified water as it travels from the storage tank to your faucet, removing any residual taste or odor that may develop in storage. NSF-certified coconut shell granular activated carbon delivers clean, crisp water at every pour.
Replace every 12 months

Maintenance
Filter Replacement Schedule
Stage 1 — Sediment
Replace sooner if water has visible particles or if you notice reduced flow rate.
Stage 2 — Carbon Block
Replace with Stage 1 as a set. Heavy chlorine exposure can shorten service life.
Stage 3 — Carbon Block
Replace with Stages 1 & 2 to keep the membrane fully protected.
Stage 4 — RO Membrane
Test output TDS with a meter. Replace when rejection drops below 85–90%.
Stage 5 — Polish Filter
Replace annually to maintain crisp, fresh taste at the faucet.
Track membrane health with a TDS meter: Test your tap water TDS and your RO output TDS. A healthy membrane should show 96–99% reduction. If rejection falls below 85%, it's time for a new membrane regardless of time elapsed.
Where to Use It
Pure Water for Every Purpose
Drinking Water
The primary use case — pure, great-tasting water on demand without the plastic waste or recurring cost of bottled water.
Coffee & Tea
Chlorine-free, low-TDS water brings out the full flavor profile of specialty coffee and loose-leaf tea.
Baby Formula
RO water is recommended for mixing infant formula — free of lead, nitrates, fluoride, and bacterial contamination.
Ice & Cooking
Clearer ice cubes and better-tasting soups, pasta, and rice — all benefit from purified low-TDS water.
Aquarium Use
RO water is ideal for freshwater and reef aquariums where precise mineral control is needed for fish and coral health.
Steam Irons & Appliances
Mineral-free RO water prevents limescale buildup in steam irons, humidifiers, and espresso machines — extending appliance life.
Installation
What to Expect at Install
- Mount the filter housings and RO membrane housing under the sink. Ensure enough clearance beneath each housing for future filter changes.
- Tap into the cold water supply line using the included self-piercing saddle valve, then connect the 1/4" feed tubing using the quick-connect fitting.
- Run the drain line to the sink drain using the included drain saddle clamp, positioned above the P-trap.
- Drill a hole in the sink deck or countertop (typically 1-3/8") and install the included long-reach chrome faucet.
- Connect the 3.2-gallon storage tank via the tank ball valve and allow it to fill. Flush 2–3 full tank cycles before drinking the output water.

Bottled Water Quality
96–99% contaminant rejection — the same standard used by premium bottled water brands, from your own tap.
Safer for Infants
Free of lead, nitrates, fluoride, and bacteria — the contaminants that matter most when preparing baby formula.
Fridge-Ready
Connect directly to your refrigerator's water line for cleaner ice and water — a better and more cost-effective alternative to fridge filters.
Eliminate Bottled Water Costs
At 50 GPD, the RO550-905EZ quickly pays for itself — replacing dozens of water bottles per week at a fraction of the cost.
