This filter fits standard 10-inch Big Blue housings with 4.5-inch diameter capacity. The KDF-55 media is a high-purity copper-zinc alloy designed for heavy metal reduction through redox reactions, while the granular activated carbon handles chlorine, chloramines (to a degree), and organic contaminants. Ideal for whole-house applications where well water or municipal supply contains elevated levels of iron, lead, or other dissolved metals. KDF-55 also inhibits bacterial growth within the filter, extending the useful life of the carbon media. Replace every six to twelve months or when flow rate diminishes noticeably.
