There is Not Enough Water from Storage Holding Tank
| Possible Cause |
Solution |
| The Feed Water is plugged or closed, making the water not run through. |
The valve could be unclog by opening it. |
| The Sediment/Carbon Filter or Carbon Post Filter is clogged. |
This indicates your filters need to be changed. |
| There is a low supply of Incoming Water Pressure. |
The incoming water pressure must be at leasr 40 PSI. You can install a Booster Pump or Permeate Pump. |
| The Reverse Osmosis Membrane is spoiled/fouled. |
To fix this problem, you need to make sure that the incoming water pressure is within limits. Make sure that the drain is not clogged. (See High TDS) |
| The Air Pressure in the holding is incorrect. |
You can empty the water in the holding tank. The pressure in the valve stem should be between 8-10 PSI. |
| The Air Bladder in the Holding Tank is ruptured. |
The tank needs to be replaced. |
| The Holding Tank valve is closed. |
Open the valve. |
| There is no water to drain. The Drain Flow Restrictor is clogged. |
You would need to replace the drain flow restrictor. |
| There is no water to drain. Air Gap Faucet is clogged. |
The air gap faucet needs to be cleared or replaced. |
| The RO Membrane Housing Check Valve is stuck. |
The check valve needs to be replaced. |
| There is a malfunction in the Automatic Shut-Off Valve. |
The automatic shut-off valve needs to be replaced. |
Filter Faucet has a Low Water Pressure
| Possible Cause |
Solution |
The Air Pressure in Holding Tank is incorrect.
(#1 reason for low flow from RO Faucet) |
First, open faucet and empty water from holding tank. Shut off the feed water to system and remove the holding tank from under sink.
Locate the air valve stem and add air. If there is still water in the tank, continue to add air until all the water is removed.
Once all the water is removed, continue to add air and pressurize to 8 PSI.
Re-install the tank under the sink, turn on the feed supply to the system and allow the tank to fill. |
| The Carbon Post Filter is clogged. |
Please replace the Post Filter. |
| The Holding Tank Valve is partially closed. |
Just open the Valve. |
| The Faucet is out of adjustment or faulty. |
You can repair or replace Faucet. |
| There is heavy water use. The Holding Tank is empty. |
Please allow the Holding Tank to refill. |
| The Water Production is low. |
See previous section on Low Quantity of Water From Holding Tank. |
Product Water has a High Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Count
| Possible Cause |
Solution |
| The prefilter is clogged. |
Please replace the actual filter |
| There is a low incoming pressure. |
The water pressure must be above 40 PSI. Install booster pump or permeate pump. |
| The Reverse Osmosis Membrane is not correctly sealed in the Membrane Housing. |
Make sure that the RO Membrane is properly installed. |
| The RO Membrane is expended. |
If the membrane's life unusually short, get the problem correct ASAP. THe average life is about 2-3 years. Replace the RO if it does not meet limit. |
| The product water and drain water lines are reversed. |
Please correct the plumbing. |
| There is no water to drain The Drain Flow Restrictor is clogged. |
Replace the Drain Flow Restrictor. |
| There is no water to drain. The Air Gap Faucet is clogged. |
The Air gap Faucet needs to be cleared or replaced. |
| The Automatic Shut-Off Valve is not closing. |
Repair or replace Automatic Shut-Off Valve. |
| The New Carbon Postfilter has not been rinsed completely. |
This can be fixed by draining the Holding Tank twice to rinse new Carbon Postfilter. |
| The incoming feed water TDS has increased. |
An increase in feed water TDS will also give an increase in Product Water TDS. |
Product Water has a Bad Taste or Odor
| Possible Cause |
Solution |
| The Carbon Post Filter is exhausted. |
Please Replace Filter. |
| There is foreign matter in Holding Tank. |
You need to clean, flush and sanitize the Holding Tank. Then you can replace filters. |
| The product water and drain water lines are reversed. |
Please correct the plumbing. |
| There are dssolved gases in the feed water. |
You can pretreat thefeed water to remove the gasses. |
| There is an increase in Product Water TDS. |
See High TDS in Product Water Section |
Drain Water is overflowing at the Air Gap Faucet
|
Possible Cause
|
Solution
|
| The Air Gap is clogged. |
Easily fixed by clearing the Air Gap |
| The Drain line is clogged. |
Make sure that the tubing is cleared. |
| The Drain flow rate is too high. |
Please Replace Flow Restrictor. |
Optional Water Quality Monitor Light Is On
|
Possible Cause
|
Solution |
| The system has not been used for an extended period of time. |
Please drain Holding Tank and allow to refill. Check again just to make sure. |
| The Reverse Osmosis Membrane is fouled or exhausted. |
The filters and RO Membrane need to be replaced. |
Filter Faucet is Leaking or Dripping
|
Possible Cause
|
Solution |
| The water leaks from faucet spout. |
You must adjust faucet by turning the tee bar located under the handle to provide a small amount of free play in the handle when shut off. If this should not work, repair or replace the faucet. |
