INSTALLATION & USE
Replacing Your Q5721 Filter
- Turn off the water supply to your system or appliance
- Twist the old Q5721 cartridge counter-clockwise to disconnect from the Q-Series head; the Twist Tap valve will automatically shut off water flow
- Remove the old filter and inspect the head O-ring for wear or damage
- Align the new Q5721 cartridge with the Q-Series head and twist clockwise until fully seated
- Turn water supply back on and check for leaks at the connection point
COMPATIBILITY
Q-Series System Requirements
The Q5721 is a replacement cartridge that requires an existing Omnipure Q-Series filter head for installation. Q-Series heads are available with 1/4" quick-connect fittings, 1/4" NPT female threads, or 3/8" NPT female threads. This filter is compatible with residential and light commercial applications including under-sink drinking water systems, inline refrigerator and ice maker filtration, beverage dispensers, drinking fountains, and as pre-filtration for reverse osmosis systems. The proprietary Q-Series twist-off design is not compatible with standard 14" filter housings.
🔧 Pro Tip: The Q5721's built-in Twist Tap valve prevents water spillage during cartridge changes, but you should still keep a towel handy to catch residual water inside the filter body. Mark your installation date on the filter with a permanent marker to track replacement intervals.
