Where This Filter Works Best
This polyphosphate specialty cartridge is engineered for whole-house and well water systems where hard water scale, pipe corrosion, or iron staining are concerns. The slow-release polyphosphate crystals form a protective microscopic coating on interior pipe surfaces and appliance heating elements, preventing mineral adhesion and metal oxidation. Iron sequestration keeps dissolved iron in solution, eliminating the rusty stains that plague fixtures and laundry in well water applications. Compatible with standard 20-inch filter housings from major manufacturers. Not recommended for use in non-chlorinated water supplies unless paired with bacterial protection such as UV sterilization, KDF media, or ceramic filtration, as phosphates can serve as a nutrient source for microbial growth.
