Dow Filmtec Commercial RO Membranes have been proven to have an exceptionally high rejection rate as well as a lower pressure. For commercial membranes, Filmtec membranes are capable of producing over 2,400 gallons per day. Dow Chemical has created several Filmtec series for different water conditions from tap or brackish water to sea water. The TW30 and XLE series refers to tap water residential ro membranes where the total dissolved solids (TDS) in the water is less than 2000 parts per million (ppm). TW30 membranes require a minimum of 225 PSI; the XLE membranes require a minimum of 100 PSIG.
Dow Filmtec Commercial Reverse Osmosis Membranes have been used globally as an industry standard for reverse osmosis systems. Many bottled water plants must rely on Filmtec's high purity in order to deliver great tasting water to customers. These have also been used in every industry where high quality water production is desired or required such as Marine/Aquarium, Lab Water, Semi-Conductor production, Waste Water Treatment, and many other industries.
SW30 membranes are used to filter sea water. Sea water contains well over 30,000 ppm and is still able to deliver a 99% salt rejection. This is all possible due to Dow Chemical's technique in creating the spiral-wound membrane. A better spiral-wound membrane, a better rejection rate at a lower pressure requirement - that is what Dow Chemical has successfully done to create Filmtec membranes.
A Dow Commercial RO Filter is capable of separating solutes at a 4:1 ratio. For every four gallons of brine water produced, one gallon of purified water is created. It's very common for some users to use the membrane as a way to concentrate a solution. By using the membrane as a filter to separate the water from the solution, the brine water would become more concentrated of the actual product you may be wanting to collect. Filmtec membranes are perfect for any situation and can be used in a variety of environments.
