Description

Calcite media is used to raise the low (acidic) pH from 5.0 to 7.0. This type of media dissolves on contact and is self-limiting, meaning it will stop when the pH is 7.0 and will not overcorrect pH under normal conditions.

Calcite media will raise your water hardness 4-5 GPG (grains per gallon).

Best used in situations where low pH is requires neutralization; post-reverse osmosis or pre-KDF or copper lines.

Fits most 10" filter housings.

Q: how long will this filter last or how many gallons at a pH of 5 will it treat?

A: They do not give a spec sheet on this filter, but it should be approximately 5,000 gallons.

A: These were originally rated for 5000 gallons but your pH is very low. You may need to slow the flow down to ensure you have enough contact time for the calcite to dissolve if you happen to see that the pH isn't where you want it to be.
