How Does a Permeae Pump Work?

Questions & Answers

Q: My supply water pressure is 60 PSI, and I want to use permeate pump without the traditional shutoff valve, but use instead a combination of electric solenoid valve and pressure switch set at 85 PSI. Will the permeate pump boost the pressure sufficiently to activate the pressure switch at 85 PSI? What is the pump cutoff pressure (permeate output)? If necessary, will I be able to adjust it a bit higher? Thanks, Andy

A: Yes, a permeate pump will still work. If you use a 8800 pump with a 85 psi switch with a solenoid, there isn't any issue for it to not shut off.

The cut off would be 85 psi because that is going to be based on theswitch you use.

No you can't adjust the permeate pump but you can adjust the shut off switch to go slightly higher. I don't recommend tinkering with the switch unless you know what you are doing though.
